Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Snuggly, Sweet, Shy
Valor's favorite day is a lazy day! Especially if there is a sunbeam to sit in. He is a big fan of being warm, so he will soak up warmth from you AND the sun; he loves to be close to you and sleep with you!
Valor is quite affectionate, but will be a shy and cautious boy at first. He wants to build trust with someone new; then, he is loving AND irresistibly lovable! He is an AMAZING snuggler. He sleeps under the covers or curled up between your legs when you're reading a book before bed. Otherwise, he simply enjoys being in whatever room you are in.
Valor was born with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a non-progressive and non-contagious neurological condition that causes balance issues. He has limited mobility, but gets around just fine by scooting - he gets to where he needs to go! He can stand, scoot, eat, and use the litter box on his own; he can't use stairs. He spends his time on the floor, the bed, or in your lap!
He was adopted as a kitten and has lived in his loving home since then, but due to personal reasons, his previous owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender him. Valor has been loved VERY much and bonded with his human, and is looking for a new home with people he can bond with. He's a complete sweetheart!
Valor plays a bit with ribbon toys and a kick toy, but he is actually perfectly content with his favorite toy: his own tail!
He has had good experiences with older kids. He currently lives with another cat and they get along fine, but they pretty much ignore each other and don't interact. He might be fine with a gentle and chill dog, given a slow and proper introduction.
Valor is a stunning gray tabby with the cutest pointy face! He meows at mealtime, when he wants to be near you, and to announce his intention to use the litter box!
When he bonds with you, he loves you so much that he will exhibit anxiety when meeting someone new. He happily takes meds at mealtime and is on a special diet for good urinary health.
His ideal home is quiet and calm, with adults and young adults/older kids. His people should be gentle and patient, taking care as he warms up and adapts to everything new. Valor is a totally precious gem, and will charm you and warm your heart, every day. Contact us to learn more and to arrange a meet & greet! You'll be glad you did.
Cats born with feline cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) usually wobble or have a funny gait; some cats have a minor imbalance and some are very wobbly! Cats with minor to moderate CH, like Valor, require little-to-no special care, or only minor accommodation, like avoiding stairs. Cats adopted from APA! with CH must be kept indoors only. CH cats have the same lifespan as other cats. For more information, please visit: lifewithchcats.com.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
