Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
We are looking for a very special home for a very special boy! Potato Salad is an adorable and outgoing male kitten who was born on February 6th, 2024 and is quite unique!
Potato was born with a condition called Manx Syndrome which is most well known for not having tails! Because cats tails are an extension of their spine, he has a slightly shortened spine and is incontinent. This means that he cannot control when he has to potty and has to wear diapers. Because of this condition, he was also born with nerve damage to his left leg which makes him do the cupid shuffle everywhere he goes and bunny hop when he runs.
Potato Salad is just a normal cat that wears a diaper. He is VERY social!! If you come visit his fosters home he will be the first to greet you and *screech* at your feet until you pick him up for cuddles or give him attention. He loves to cuddle and will follow you all day long!
Potato adores other cats and will cuddle and play just like any normal cat would.
He truly has the absolute best and most outgoing personality and his care is very easy. He gets twice daily butt baths and regular diaper changes as well as diaper free time in a playpen. We would love to find someone who has previous diaper baby experience.
All in all if you want a unique guy with an amazingly friendly and goofy personality, Potato Salad is your guy! If you have any questions please message us here, or shoot us an email at foster@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
