My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Slim!

Originally picked up as a feral on 08/23/2014, but was too friendly to be an outdoor cat. He loves to play but never too rough - does not bite or scratch. He loves to play with other cats! He will run back and fourth through the house, flips and ambushes the other cats. Slim is an adult cat who acts like a playful kitten.

When he is not in play mode he likes to take the world in around him. The windows are a favorite spot to watch the life outdoors. Slim is a quick learner and very observant.

Slim likes too cuddle. He may need a little time to adjust to new people and situations - who doesn't? Once he is settled in he will be a great cuddle buddy that will make you laugh with his playful antics. Slim would do best with another cat friend in his forever home. He would love to be adopted with one or both of his previous house mates - Maximus and Petey.

Slim needs CD dry food otherwise he will develop crystals in his urine. This is very common in older male cats but easily managed with the special diet.

Slim is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here or email adopt@ahsem.org

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Additional adoption info

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
