My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rhea is a beautiful girl looking for a foster or furever home. She was born around March 2022. She is e-collar and crate trained, and she loves to play. She came from a background of neglect, abuse and health issues; but has overcome all of it with proper care, socialization and training. She still needs patience because she is fearful of new people without slow introductions, but once she knows you- she worships you and loves on you so hard. She just needs to establish trust and a safe boundary first. Rhea would do best as a solo pet for now because she is still learning. Rhea's preferred adopter will be someone who can provide consistent structure, open to families with older children (14+) as she is strong and still learning. She is a healthy gal who is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and microchipped.

Her foster is gifting all her gear to her furever home: crate, blankets, a cot, ecollar and remote, slow feeding bowl, harness and collar.

If you are interested in meeting Rhea, please send a message here or email adopt@ahsem.org

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Additional adoption info

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
