Meet Simba: Your Future Feline Friend!
Simba is a confident yet cautious kitty with a charming personality. He loves to find cozy hiding spots up high where he can observe the world around him. Full of energy, Simba thrives on playtime—at least once a day with an interactive wand toy is a must! Watching him leap and twist during play is pure joy.
He may not be your typical lap cat, but Simba has his own sweet way of showing affection. He loves to rub against you and enjoys chin scratches and pets, especially when he’s in the mood—which is often! He’s already met our senior beagle and is completely unfazed by him, frequently giving him little rubs. This suggests he would do wonderfully with other pets too!
Simba would appreciate having shelves to climb and jump on, allowing him to expend that boundless energy. He’s also a smart boy who enjoys food puzzle toys, keeping him entertained and engaged. He is a certified bug catcher.
He can get overstimulated and might try to use your hands as toys. Keep some catnip kickers nearby and make sure to use an interactive wand toy to satisfy his hunting instincts. He loves to roll around, but beware—don’t touch his belly; it’s a trap! He’s fine with being picked up when needed and will offer a few affectionate rubs before asking to be set free.
If you’re looking for a loving companion who enjoys your presence without being overly needy, Simba is the one for you. He’ll thrive in a patient home that can provide him with daily playtime and understands his energetic nature.
If you’re ready to welcome this playful and affectionate feline into your life, Simba can’t wait to meet you!
Foster Update:
***He doesn’t like being pet when he is rolling and he rolls a lot. My husband pet him while he was rolling and Simba hissed at him and seemed agitated. He benefits from having time to decompress if he is agitated.
I sneezed and he was not bothered by my sneeze. I stepped on his foot and he jumped back and was scared but he did not attack me. He came over and rubbed on me afterwards. If he does not have a good play session for the day he is more wound up. He can be destructive if he doesn’t have an outlet. He likes yoga blocks, or anything made of foam. He doesn’t seem to be intentionally eating it, just chewing on it. I’ve given him appropriate things to chew on but I think it is related to him being by himself and bored. When I’ve played with him that day he is less destructive. He does try to play with your feet or hands if you don’t give him his playtime with an interactive wand toy. He is very entertaining to play with as he is very athletic and jumps and flips. He also kills bugs.
He is very affectionate and his way of showing love is by rubbing all over you. He does accept chin scratches and pets when he consents to it which is frequent. He has met our senior beagle and was not phased by him. Simba has been rubbing on our dog frequently so we think he would be good with other animals. We plan to test him with other types of dogs as our dog is very calm and ignores cats.
He would be good in a home with a family who is patient and will ensure he has daily playtime with an interactive wand toy. Someone who understands he has a lot of energy and needs to have appropriate ways to get his energy out. But he is a great companion and loves to be around people.***
Simba was brought to the shelter when his family could no longer care for him. They said he enjoys climbing, playing with toys and has enjoyed the company of dogs! We do recommend a home with adults only as he has shown some temperamental behaviors here in the shelter and in his previous home. Please ask a caretaker if you'd like to know more about this handsome boy.
