My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Hudson arrived:
Hudson was brought in by his previous owner on 7/27/24.

Here is an update on how Hudson is doing in foster:
Hudson is a little shy but loves his red bell pepper and carrots-his favorite treats! While he enjoys the occasional attention, especially when snacks are involved, he tends to shy away from regular petting and will scurry off if you approach him. He's not one to cuddle or sit on laps, preferring to hide when you enter his space. However, he loves to play with hay stuffed in toilet paper rolls and will sometimes get adorable zoomies or a cute jump of excitement. He enjoys a calm and quiet environment and interacts with cats, though he may run away if they get too close. He's gentle with humans and loves to stay mellow, making him a calm and happy companion!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
