Bishop is a darling dog who needs a new home through no fault of his own. He is affectionate and has some basic training; he knows SIT, STAY, GO LAY DOWN, COME and some non verbal commands.
His family has had a dramatic change in life circumstances and no longer have the money, time, or housing situation to keep him.
Bishop currently lives in a busy household, but he would do best as an only dog, with a person or family who have the time to devote to providing him the love and training he deserves.
He lives with 2 children: an 8-year-old and a 5-month-old and 2 cats. Bishop has been extremely patient and gentle with the 8-year-old special needs child.
He has successfully lived with another female dog and needs some training around other male dogs. He currently lives with 2 cats. One was already in the family before he came, and one has been introduced after he was there. He does very well with both. He and the older cat groom each other occasionally (see the picture of them in a crate together).
He likes to play with squeaky chew toys and tennis balls he can tear apart. He likes to play fetch, but he expects you to wrestle the toy back from him, since he won't give it back to you. He also like to play tug.
Bishop’s family wants the best for him and thinks he would thrive in a home with a yard, or on a farm where he can run around; although he's quiet and easy going enough for apartment life.
