Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Captain Goober came to us in bad shape. He had a very badly injured leg. We were lucky enough to get some funding from a special donor to the UF Small Animal Hospital and he was able to receive a very expensive and specialized surgery, and rehab to fix him. Captain was also very undersocialized with both humans and dogs. Due to this, he will likely time to warm up to any new people, but if you can be patient with him, he is such a good dog and has come so far! He also circles when nervous, but this is simply a soothing technique for him, and not a neurological concern.
He absolutely is not fond of cats and should not go to a home with any cats or smaller animals. He has not been around children, but should be find with older kids, provided them give him time to warm up and let him come to them on his own. He would do best with a female dog that is playful but accepting of some pushy behvaiors.
He will also have arthritis in his healed leg, and would do best on supplements. We are looking for an adopter with breed experience.

We are setting up adoptions with approved adopters on an appointment basis. We are no longer hosting adoption events at PetSmart until further notice. We are not arranging meet and greets; but appointments to finalize adoptions to limit exposure for all. Our adoptions come with a one week trial period in which if things are not working out, we will refund your adoption fee if you decide to return your newly adopted Faithful Friend. Our adoptions must be done in person at PetSmart (3736 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608) and we do not arrange transport to adopters. Our adoption fees vary and we are only able to accept payments by card at this time but include spay/neuter, heartworm test (dogs), FeLV/FIV test (cats), age appropriate vaccines and deworming, flea, tick and heartworm medication and microchip.

More about this rescue
Founded in February 2018, Faithful Friends Pet Rescue and Rehoming, Inc is an organization dedicated to rescue and rehoming of dogs and cats in need. While we are always happy for high adoption numbers, that is never our focus. Our focus is always the animals themselves - providing the best care for each animal in our program while we search for a loving, permanent home.
We are proudly a 501(c)3 non-profit charity!
Please email us at FaithfulFriendsPRR@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding adopting.
