My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm a lively 4-year-old female Hound mix with a heart full of sweetness and an abundance of energy. I love going on walks and enjoy running and playing, making her a perfect match for an active family or individual. While I may be a bit shy when meeting new people, I warm up and show my loving and playful nature.

My enthusiasm for life and affectionate personality make me a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loyal and energetic furry friend to share adventures with.

When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, I tested positive for Heartworm.

The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours.

If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support.

The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins.

The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes.

Stop in and meet Ulsa in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
