My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come meet a real Diamond in the Ruff!
This 30-pound, 5-year-old Jack Russell Mix came to us from an overcrowded rural shelter. Sweet Diamond had lived her entire life in a home... until her humans split up and left her and her buddy, Tony, out in the yard to fend for themselves. Out in the elements, fleas and allergies took their toll on her coat, and she contracted heartworm and other flea-borne illnesses.
But, after joining us at Animal Aid, she's HEALTHY and HEARTWORM-FREE!!!!
With meds, good food, and a clean place to lay her head, Diamond is starting to sparkle and shine!
She's affectionate, playful, a little sassy, and so smart! She puts her brain to work figuring out all the ways to kiss us. That's her mission -- give all the kisses, get all the cuddles!
This Diamond wants to be EVERYONE'S best friend -- please meet her, and let her be yours!
Our amazing Diamond sparkles in everything she does! To us, this gem of a girl represents hope.
Diamond is desperately trying to find her forever home and she won't give up - nor will we!

UPDATE: Diamond was in the midst of her heartworm treatment (she is now done &HEALTHY!) and became a bit feisty with the other dog in a foster home. She most definitely was not feeling well and was on some strong meds at the time.

Diamond loves people and loves life! She loves to play with toys but, even more so, she loves to cuddle in your lap! During the morning shifts, Diamond thoroughly enjoys being in the Cafe area and watching all the action! She hopes that someone will see her there and want to finally meet her!

Diamond was pulled from a rural shelter with her buddy, Tony. Tony is now home and loving life. And Diamond has every hope that can happen for her. PLEASE share her story - we need our special, bright and shiny Diamond to be in a home, surrounded by love!

Diamond would do best in a home with no other pets and with older children! Let's show Diamond that there is value in HOPE!
We're open every day, including weekends and holidays, from 9am to noon, no appointment necessary.
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!
