So many times, Diamond has come so close to living the dream... only to have it snatched away through no fault of her own. This affectionate, playful, 5-year-old Jack Russel mix was absolutely thriving in a home with a couple of humans... until they split up, decided a dog was inconvenient, and left her to fend for herself in the backyard. A fabulous rescue in rural VA (SWAG) took her in and we were fortunate enough to welcome her to Animal Aid shortly thereafter. Diamond came to us underweight, HW-positive, and with a painful skin condition, but, true to her name, her spirit dazzled! No matter how bad she felt, she was never anything but the PERFECT mix of kisses and playfulness! Diamond's been with us long enough that she's now healthy, spayed, and HW-free, with a shiny coat befitting of her name! Diamond was adopted to what we thought would be her forever family, but once again, Diamond's dreams were dashed. She was returned for fighting with a visiting dog in what she thought was HER home! There were tears in our eyes when she came back, but Diamond encouraged us to rub her belly and then found the nearest toy for a rousing game of tug, and man, can this little girl tug!! After everything she's been through, Diamond shines on, never losing hope, always eager to love! PLEASE - SHARE THIS POST, and help find Diamond the fabulous forever home she deserves! To 100% set her up for success, we're looking for a home with no other pets and no children under 12. Diamond is pure sweetness and light, but she's short -- so she jumps up to give kisses, and we don't want any little ones knocked over! Come get "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" stuck in your head any day between 9am and noon (including weekends & holidays), at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!
PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
