My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:10/31/2020

Description:

Hi, my name is Ruth and I am currently on the lookout for a new forever home! Although my life started as an outdoor cat, I have always dreamed of having my own home. I am a very very affectionate girl. If my person is by me, I will meow at them and ask for pets. I am also a very mellow girl who likes napping and relaxing around the house. If I sound like your girl, come and meet me today!

Words to Describe Me: Affectionate, Mellow, Curious

Favorite Place to Sleep: On my bed (or any comfy spot)

Favorite Toy: I am still learning to play with toys!

Perfect Day: Lounging around

Kitty's Likes: Head and back scratches

Kitty's Dislikes: Fast Movements

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Head pets

Favorite Treat: Wet food

Job Title in Foster: Head butter

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Your best friend

  • Good with Cats: Likes cats given a proper introduction.

  • Good with Dogs: Unknown

  • Good with Children: Unknown, but optimistic (Animal has not met any children.)

  • Companion Animal:  Not necessary, but she would love another friendly FeLV+ cat or kitten to snuggle.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Ruth  tested positive for     FeLV      therefore would need to be in a home with other FeLV kitties (or adopt one of the other FeLV kitties in the rescue) or he can be your one and only boy.  Saving One Life will provide veterinary care throughout this feline's life.

Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at  www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply.

Additional adoption info

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
