Aspen is a beautiful 50lb Husky mix rescued originally from living in a crate inn someone's car in the heat of summer. As a pup, we were told he lived outside and was just thrown food by his owners. Aspen is now 2 years old and has had some great socialization. He is shy with new people, but when he warms up he is very interactive with his person. He enjoys doing things with his person, even gently grabbing his foster mom's hand in his mouth to lead her places. Aspen is a medium energy level and overall really chill, especially for his suspected breed type. He walks calmly on a leash, making him an easy exercise partner.
We would love for Aspen to go to a home with a fenced in yard; he isn't a huge fa of pottying on a leash, but he will it he has to. He is currently living with other dogs and a cat. He would do ok in a home with CALM and respectful children, ideally older.
Aspen's only real vice is that he guards food/water from other dogs. This is easily resolved by feeding him in his crate. He is expressive about his guarding by showing his teeth, but has never bitten or attacked another dog. He's just good at expressing how he feels and communicating! We can't knock him for that.
