Everyone who meets this beautiful adorable little 36lb pocket pittie falls under her sweet spell and literally exclaims what a sweet heart she is. And she is, truly one of the sweetest dogs you will meet. 2 year old Bella was rescued from one of the biggest kill shelters in North Carolina before her scheduled euthanasia for space. Bella is a cuddle bug who will cuddle next to you and keep you warm. If she could grow roots into your bed or couch she would! Forget the floor...Bella thinks she belongs right next to you!
Bella is fully crate trained for when you leave home and can’t bring her with you, she will run to her crate when you tell her to crate up in anticipation for her treat. Bella is highly food motivated and in her youthful excitement she will sometimes grab the treat from you forgetting her manners that she DOES know. She will do zoomies in exuberant joy just because she is happy to be alive!
She’s also fully house trained, though has never been taught how to let you know that nature is calling and it’s time to go outside. The plus side is she sticks to a great schedule and always takes care of business right after she eats her meals.
As the cherry on top, Bella is leash trained and walks very well on leash, although sometimes in her excitement she may pull, but will settle right into the walk with a reminder on her manners. She is doing extremely well in a softwalk no-pull harness.
Bella does have an independent streak and she would love someone who understands that and will have patience with her. For example, when she wants to continue with her nap on the bed, she may protest if you ask her to move. It is very important that her owner maintain order in the house and set boundaries, otherwise Bella will rule the roost and take over the domain!
Bella is great with other dogs and is living with many others. She is a very rough player. If there are other dogs in the home, her owner will need to help regulate her energy levels during play and make sure that any playtime is monitored and make the dogs take breaks if things get rolling and rough! She has been exposed to a dog savvy cat in a previous foster home. She would occasionally chase, but it was very half hearted and easily corrected/redirected.

Bella is currently located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at https://bit.ly/USAHOTNADOPT2024
Adoption process:
Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved.
From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption.
Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption.
