My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I have lived with cats.

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

Bellini tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to an adult-only home with experienced cat parents.

A volunteer writes: Bellini could really use a friend right now. He was brought to us after his person passed away and lived with many other cats, so the shelter's been a big adjustment. I peeked in his condo and felt compelled to offer him something. I went through our entire inventory of toys and special treats to find the best, the most interesting, the most delicious. But as I scrambled to find something spectacular to brighten Bellini's day, I realized that it wasn't going to be that. As it can sometimes go when things are hard, the most valuable things we have to offer, like our patience, presence, and love, aren't the things we can reach for in a drawer. Sometimes we just need to show up for a cat like Bellini and explain that we're going to be there with him every step of the way. Bellini is hoping for his chance to shine and we hope it'll be with you.
