My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

Carl tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

Please check here for updated adoption hours.

A volunteer writes: It's nearly impossible to see each glittering side of a cat in the shelter. Sometimes it's hard to catch even one, though it's certainly not for lack of trying for their sparkle to shine. I always try to introduce myself to Carl, but can't say I know him as well as I'd like. Please allow me though, to share what I do. I opened Carl's condo door and he quickly took a step back, thus letting me know he wasn't really up for having visitors. I can understand this, especially knowing that Carl was brought to us because his person passed away. Carl's found himself here, hopeful and alone, where he tries heartbreakingly hard to blend in and not make too many waves. I love Carl to pieces and know he will shine when he finds that special someone who will give him a chance to open up on his own time and with his own spirit.
