My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spotlight on Macy: The Sweet and Reserved Pup Ready for a Loving Home

Meet Macy, a gentle and reserved female pup with a beautiful shiny black coat with brown spots on her legs. At heart, Macy is a calm and sweet soul who enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like a cozy cuddle and a peaceful nap.

Macy is housebroken and rides exceptionally well in the car, making her a great companion for both relaxing at home and enjoying outings with her family. Her serene demeanor and affectionate nature make her a delight to be around, whether she's lounging on the couch or taking a quiet nap.

This lovely girl gets along well with most other dogs, cats, and is kid-friendly. She would thrive in a home with a calm, low-energy pup who can offer her companionship without overwhelming her. Macy appreciates a tranquil environment and would do best in a home where she can enjoy a gentle pace of life.

If you're looking for a sweet, reserved pup who will be a loving and easy-going addition to your family, Macy could be the perfect fit. Come meet this beautiful girl and see how her calm and affectionate nature can bring warmth and joy to your home. Macy is ready to find her forever family and share all the love she has to give!

More about this shelter

Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Since 1953, we have been serving the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region. We are an independent, non-governmental rescue that offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption, and more. We rely solely on the support of caring people like you to fund our programs and services which profoundly benefit the animals of our community. Thank you for all of your support!

Our Mission:
To be the premier organization dedicated to enhancing and saving the lives of pets in the Northshore region through community engagements, adoption, spay and neuter programs, and sheltering.

Our Vision:
To lay the foundation for a no-kill nation. To learn more about a no-kill nation, we suggest visiting www.nokilladvocacycenter.org.

What We Do:
Adoptions: Each year, we rescue, care for and find loving homes for homeless animals in our community.

Veterinary Care:
Our community clinic provides excellent veterinary care to both our rescue pets and to beloved family pets. All funds raised through our clinic directly impact the care of the homeless animals of our rescue.

Foster:
Our foster families open their homes to homeless animals who are too young, sick or scared to be immediately adopted.

Volunteer:
Hundreds of volunteers take on a variety of tasks to help care for and promote our animals, assist administration, and represent NHS at community events, allowing more time for our staff to do their jobs efficiently.

Low-Cost Pet Health:
Through grant and corporate partners, we are able to provide a variety of low-cost pet care to people in need. These include low-cost spay/neuter opportunities, microchipping, vaccinations and more!
