TAMMY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Tammy Best Guess for Breed: Lab, retriever mix
Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of July 2024 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 44 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! She hasn't been seen with kids or cats but can be tested
Currently Living at: Georgia shelter
Special adoption considerations: Tammy is a truly Lucky Dog! She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated and has fully recovered! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.
About Tammy: Tammy is an A+ obedience school graduate that's now ready for her forever home!
A Star Student
Tammy is a 2.5-year-old Lab mix who recently graduated with top marks from a several-month-long Prison Dogs program. As an A+ student, Tammy learned basic obedience and has become a well-mannered, polite lady who’s now ready to settle into her forever home.
Sweet and Sociable
The shelter staff can’t say enough good things about Tammy. She’s a sweet girl who gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets—both people and dogs alike. Tammy’s friendly nature makes her the perfect companion for any household.
Ready for a Loving Home
With her training and loving personality, Tammy is more than prepared to be a wonderful addition to a family. She’s looking for a home where she can continue being her best self, surrounded by love, with long walks, lots of toys and fun adventures.
