My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PERSONALITY
If you’re looking for a kitty who will immediately love you and purr up a storm, I’m your guy! My foster mom says I’m one of the most affectionate kitties she’s met and she loves how sweet and loving I am. Plus have you seen how cute my little face is? No one can resist my snuggles!

Hobbies: Snoozing on you or near you, purring for pets, testing the softness of various blankets and beds.
Favorite Toy: The classic stick toy is great!
Favorite Napping Spot: I love my bed on the desk so that I can keep you company while you work!

HOW I CAME TO THE PGSPCA
Pippin and I were rescued from an overwhelmed household to be put up for adoption.

DREAM FAMILY
I really like people so I think I could fit into a lot of different types of homes! I’d love to be adopted with my brother Merry or adopted into a house with another cat.

My Profile
Good with kids: I’m not sure if I’m good with kids yet
Good with dogs: Yes, I've lived with dogs
Good with other cats: I love other cats, especially my brother Merry!
Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes
Activity level: Playful but not too rowdy, though I love chasing around my kitty friends!

Meet Me
If you are interested in Pippin, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us.

Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Pippin will be attending the next adoption show.

NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptions begin with a visit to one of our adoption events. The adoption coordinator and/or the pet's foster parent will review the applications received. The applicant (if any) whose responses best fit the needs of the particular pet will generally be contacted within a week to schedule a home visit. A vet check and personal reference is also required prior to visiting your home. Our non-refundable adoption fee is $250 for dogs, $85 for kittens ($150 for a pair of kittens), and $75 for an adult cat. The fee covers spay/neuter, core vaccines (distemper and rabies), deworming, microchipping, and the general care of the animals. Per our contract, if you cannot keep your adopted pet for any reason, it must be returned to our program. We will try to find it a new home.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We don't have a central shelter facility, so the best place to meet our adoptable cats and dogs is at our adoption shows! If you have previously filled out an application, please bring it with you to the show! Please e-mail with any questions. We cannot guarantee that an animal you want to meet will be at the show. Please check www.pgspca.org -> adopt -> adoption_show_attendees the day before the show and we will do our best to let you know if he/she will be there!

We hold two adoption events each month, on Saturdays from 12 noon to 2 pm.

More about this rescue

The PGSPCA is a nonprofit organization of volunteers dedicated to animal welfare. We are chartered by the State of Maryland, but we receive no state or county funds. Our activities are supported solely by contributions, dues and fundraising events.

We have three main objectives:

• To reduce the number of unwanted litters of dogs and cats through our progressive spay/neuter program – We have altered more than 20,000 animals over the past five years, many of them at no charge;

• To prevent cruelty to animals and all animal suffering through humane education, neglect and cruelty investigations, protective legal action, and an active dog and cat adoption program – We receive about 1,000 calls a month for cruelty investigations, spay and neuter assistance and adoption requests;

• To protect all animals against suffering and abuse through education on legislation affecting the protection of all animals – We regularly educate the public and provide testimony about animal welfare to county and state legislators.
