My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.

Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website.

We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run.

We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have.

Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.

General Notes | Want to adopt this super sweeg and amazing puppy dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.

Personality | Eric is an incredibly gentle, sweet, sensitive soul.  He recently attended a MHLRM event and loved the attention he was getting from all the humans and other dogs!  He greeted everyone in a nice polite manner - he even layed down to have a much loved belly rub!   He is such a gem of a puppy.  Calm and sweet!  He is easy going and just happy to be around his people.  Not afraid of loud noises or movement.   Honestly, for a puppy is super cool!

Story | Eric was found abandonded with a couple smaller puppies.

Other Dogs | Cats | No experience in foster home.   He is so gentle that it would be a surprise if he couldn't figure out they are freinds.

Children | With his previous foster, Eric interacted with a group of 7 children ranging in age from 2-10 and he loved watching them play and getting all the attention they gave him.  At a recent public event, he became the favorite of a little 8 year old boy with Downs.  They really took to each other and Eric was so gentle.

Training |  Eric is 100% house trained and sleeps in his bed all night.  He also walks very nicely on the leash.  Put this boy in a car and he rides like a pro - he loves looking out the window! He is learning basic obedience skills from his foster, like sit and down.   He loves treats and wants so much to please his people -  he will do great in learning new skills.

Eric's foster is working with him on being comfortable in his crate and being left alone.  Who knows, maybe a crate isn't his gig.  Maybe a baby-gate keeping him in a comfortable room is his sweet spot.  While he is working on overcoming his dislike of being left alone, apartment life is probably not his first choice (only because he can be vocal when left in a crate).  We have tips and tricks we can proivde his forever family on how to work a dog out of separation anxiety.

Leash | Eric is doing well on leash walks - for the most part he walks behind the walker and doesn't react to much street action.

Activity Level | Eric is a very mellow, relaxed guy.  He is starting to show a few more bursts of energy and initiating play with his older foster brother, but still mostly happy to be comfortable inside on his dog bed.  He is not resistant to going outside, but does prefer being in the vicinity of his people.

Health Notes | Healthy! Eric is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm NEGATIVE!

Thank you!

Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).

Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process.

Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.

We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!

We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
