My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sena: The Adorable 9-Month-Old Big Baby in Search of Her Forever Home

Introducing Sena (pronounced See-na), a lovable 9-month-old pup who is ready to steal your heart! This 57-pound bundle of joy was found as a stray by a kind-hearted person who has been fostering her and helping her get ready for her forever home.

Sena is a gentle giant who, despite her size, dreams of being a lap dog. She doesn't quite realize her own size, so she's best suited for a home with older children or adults who can handle her enthusiastic cuddles. Sena is the perfect companion for someone looking for a best friend-whether you're a young adult or simply someone seeking a loyal and loving furry buddy.

This sweet girl adores people and is always up for some playtime, leash walking, and cuddling. She loves car rides, enjoys pup cups, and is content sitting by your side while you work. Sena has a calm demeanor and isn't overly energetic, though she does enjoy play sessions and walks.

Sena is smart and already knows some commands. She's house and kennel trained (especially at night, though she's still working on perfecting her daytime routine). Social and friendly, she has been great with other dogs and people. Sena can get a bit excited during greetings and may offer a playful, light toothy smile, but she's working on refining her manners.

She's also cat-tested and shows no aggression, though she remains curious about her feline friends. Sena is up-to-date on all her shots and is spayed.

If you're looking for a loving, smart, and slightly oversized lap dog who enjoys both relaxation and play, Sena is the perfect match. Come meet this delightful girl and see how she can bring endless joy and companionship into your life!

Her adoption fee is also sponsored by her finders. :)

More about this shelter

Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Since 1953, we have been serving the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region. We are an independent, non-governmental rescue that offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption, and more. We rely solely on the support of caring people like you to fund our programs and services which profoundly benefit the animals of our community. Thank you for all of your support!

Our Mission:
To be the premier organization dedicated to enhancing and saving the lives of pets in the Northshore region through community engagements, adoption, spay and neuter programs, and sheltering.

Our Vision:
To lay the foundation for a no-kill nation. To learn more about a no-kill nation, we suggest visiting www.nokilladvocacycenter.org.

What We Do:
Adoptions: Each year, we rescue, care for and find loving homes for homeless animals in our community.

Veterinary Care:
Our community clinic provides excellent veterinary care to both our rescue pets and to beloved family pets. All funds raised through our clinic directly impact the care of the homeless animals of our rescue.

Foster:
Our foster families open their homes to homeless animals who are too young, sick or scared to be immediately adopted.

Volunteer:
Hundreds of volunteers take on a variety of tasks to help care for and promote our animals, assist administration, and represent NHS at community events, allowing more time for our staff to do their jobs efficiently.

Low-Cost Pet Health:
Through grant and corporate partners, we are able to provide a variety of low-cost pet care to people in need. These include low-cost spay/neuter opportunities, microchipping, vaccinations and more!
