Taos the puppy! This sweet 7 month old pup originally hails from New Mexico, but he's hoping to find a new & forever home here in Colorado. Looking for an enthusiastic playmate for yourself or your four-legged housemate? Bring home a little Taos. On first impressions, Taos will be a quick learner. He's already good at recall, will be ready to settle down for the night after a busy day, & seems like he'll be a quick study at potty training. He's almost surely destined to enjoy water sports, & if you happen to have a wading pool or splash pond he'll be all-in (literally). So if you're looking for a bit of southwestern spice maybe it's time to being a little Taos into your life.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Animal Friends Alliance is a non-profit, adoption guarantee cat and dog shelter and low-cost spay/neuter clinic.
Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.

Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
