My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Aspen. I was rescued from a tree in a park when I was eight weeks old. A few days after I came to SBACC, another orphaned kitten arrived. He was named Deluxe and was almost the same age as me. He was pretty scared, so we paired up and soon became buddies. But then I came down with ringworm, and I was moved to a different room, and I haven’t seen Deluxe in months. However, I do have new friends. I’m finally cleared of ringworm, and so are all my new friends. I’m a friendly, playful girl who enjoys being held and cuddled. I hope to find my forever home real soon. I might be OK as an only kitty, but I’d much prefer to go to my forever home with a furry friend.

Dogs $150, Puppies under 6 months $225
Cats $75 over 5 years
Cats between 6 months-5 years $100

Dog adoptions include a written application and an on site interview. All family members, including other resident dogs, must meet the new dog.

The adoption process for cats and kittens includes:
A detailed application.
An interview with the potential adopter(s).
And a home visit, in some circumstances.

To ensure the best possible match for our cats and kittens, all applications are reviewed by our adoption committee and determination can take up to 48 hours.

We are an all-volunteer, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter formed in 1986 to find homes for the dogs, cats lost within our city limits. We are a California non-profit 501-C3 corporation # 33-0192138 so all donations are tax-deductible.

We are always in need of volunteers and have many areas in which you can share your talents. Please attend one of our volunteer classes to get started.
