My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years
Weight: 31 kg

A little bit about Brody:
- children unknown, older recommended due to nervousness
- cats / small animals unknown
- dogs unknown, potential for select other dog in home pending successful dog-to-dog

Say hello to Brody, a sweet yet shy boy who has had a rough start to life. However, with the proper TLC, he's ready to continue on the journey to his new forever! Brody would love a calm, quiet home that would be able to help him adjust slowly, allowing him to get comfortable at his own pace. Once he trusts you, he becomes a very snuggly dog who would love to curl up on the couch for movie night. Brody also enjoys gentle play and long walks - his foster family shares that he walks well on leash. Being found as a stray means that Brody's history is a mystery, but in foster he shown signs of understanding basic commands and being fully housetrained. We don't know his history with other animals but he may do well with confident kitties or respectful, laid back dogs. Brody has shown some indications of stress when left alone, so his forever family should be prepared to put safeguards in place (such as a pet sitter or doggy daycare) to help manage this if necessary. Brody is also on a special diet to keep him looking and feeling his best. To learn more, come meet the bashful Brody today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
