My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!!
They call me Bailey. I'm the best all around good boy here at HSWC resort. I've been here coming up on 1/3 of my life. I'm really good at math. I know you have 6 treats in your pocket and I intend to earn 100% of them treats!
I heard the vollys talking about the best trained dogs get adopted. So I taught myself some things.
go through my routine when my friends come to see me.
Here's a sample of my show:
✅Sit at door ...look cute for hook up.
✅Show vollys how excited I am to see them. Calm down and go for nice walk.
✅Run through self taught tricks that make the walkers laugh...
"here's my paw and my other paw and stop-drop and-roll . Hey, here's my belly for rubs !! "
You don't even need to ask me stuff, I just show you my moves.
✅After the walk I go to my bungalow and sit on my bed to be unhooked. I miss my friends when they leave me.I have lots of fans that ask for me.
Sometimes I hear my name over the loudspeakers. Then I know I will get love soon.
✅I like dogs, I miss my brother but I'm glad he got a family.
✅I'm smart and I'll even let you teach me some things.
✅I love food And will easily learn things for food.
🌕 I should always eat in another area away from your other dog. I didn't used to have alot of food before I got here. I like to eat my yum yums by myself.
This place is nice, although they could use a few decorations, but I'd really like my own family to love. This 9-5 watching everyone walk by me all day is just not enough for me.
✅🐶I got along well with my brother Barnum,
We loved to wrestle and go on day trips to the beach. Maybe you have seen our Halloween pics. I was the cutest Pooh bear and him Eeore. Then we had our holiday pics -we both thought we were Santa. (I'm really Santa, I give my bro stuff all the time).
Here's what they say about me when they think I'm not listening...
🐾Easy walker on a leash.
❤️People pleaser, Medium energy.
✅Handsome coat, perfect compact size 63 pounds.
😀Excitable energy that fizzles down on walks. Some jumping for excitement... (that easily goes away with consistent training commands.)
🌕I might need a secure 6 foot fenced yard. Our other owner tied us outside but we could run free too.
🚕I like car rides with my brother but can be shy by myself.

Please come and meet me, I'll be the bestest boy for you. I want my very own forever family, hopefully by the holidays so I can enjoy all the Santa decorations with you. He's my fav.
I know I'll be your bff if you'll just give me a chance. You can have your very own Santa Pooh bear!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
