My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Beau (SC) is a 70 lb. neutered male Pit Bull Terrier mix. Our veterinary partner estimated that Beau was 2 years old at the time of intake in September 2021. Beau is a super sweet, gentle, friendly boy who is good with people. Although Beau loves children, he's a big guy who doesn't know his own strength, so he would do best with teens and older.  This beautiful boy was shot in the mouth while a drug warrant was being served; fortunately, the bullet lodged in Beau's neck in a spot that is not causing any pain or limitation. It was determined that it's best left there as the surgery to remove it is dangerous.  Beau is a couch potato and LOVES to cuddle, is completely housebroken, enjoys car rides and does not chew or destroy anything (except for his toys which he loves to remove squeakers from). Beau would be perfect for a person or couple that doesn’t have other animals or has one submissive female (the only type of dogs he seems to get along with). He needs to be the center of attention so he can get all the love and attention he deserves. Beau is reactive to other dogs, so walking can be a bit challenging (he has a loud bark). Having a fenced in yard would be a plus.  Beau can truly be your forever, loyal best friend if you crave pure unconditional love.  You will be blessed to encounter this special guy.  If you would like to star in Beau's new, improved life, please apply online to adopt Beau (SC) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.

RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.
