My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you ready to meet the most lovable, snuggly, perfect pup ever? This is Zuri, the black-coated beauty who's here to steal your heart! She’s a true social butterfly, with a special softness for kids, looking for a socially active family home!

With her big, soulful eyes and those endearing pittie moves, Zuri is easy to adore! We believe that Zuri is a 4 year old pittie mix of some sort, but she is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses! At 60 pounds of pure love, she's mindful of her size—she's the perfect cuddle companion without the bulldozer effect. 😄

Kid-tested, Cat-approved:
She’s wonderful with kids, she’s gentle, soft and extra careful with her wiggles with the little ones! She’s met kids of all ages here at the rescue, regularly hanging out with a three year old, and having met kids as young as infancy! Zuri could care less about cats—peaceful cohabitation at its finest. 🐱 Watch Zuri’s cat test in her video, to see for yourself.

Toys, Treats, and Couch Snuggles:
Zuri is all about the finer things in life. Whether it's her favorite squeaky toy or a gourmet snack, she’s all in. And after a long day? She’s your personal snuggle blanket, ready to lounge on the couch (or your lap) with love and kisses.

All About That Wag:
Zuri greets every human with the happiest tail wag and “please love me” wiggle. With kids, she’s polite and gentle, and with her favorite people at the rescue, she’ll literally melt for attention.

The Cherry on Top:
Zuri’s got brains, too! This smart cookie knows “sit,” “down,” and “paw”, and she’s mastering “crawl.” Plus, no accidents in the house and she's quiet as a mouse in her crate. 💡

A Few Preferences (We All Have ‘Em!):
Zuri is dog friendly and she'd do best with a more laid-back furry friend or even as the queen of the castle. And yes, she's a vocal player, so if her play-sounds make you wonder if she’s a stand-up comedian, that’s just classic Zuri!

Her Dream Home:
Whether it's an apartment or a house, Zuri’s not picky—just give her love, daily walks, and snuggles. She could be your one-and-only or join your pack (dogs, cats and kids, bring it on!). She's just waiting for her forever family to spoil her with love, toys, and couch time.

We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
