My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carl is a neutered 4 year old male, a large dog at around 70 pounds. He's a tall boy, long legs! He is an American Staffordshire terrier mix. He is UTD on all shots, heartworm negative and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

Carl enjoys all the fun games a dog should enjoy, "find it," "hide a toy" or searching for treats hidden around the house that he likes to find. He knows several tricks like sit, down, and the place command and is successful when there are no distractions. His intelligence is through the roof so he learns very
quickly. He likes food puzzles, and lick mats.
We feel he will do best with kids 12 and over due to high anxiety and being fearful of littler children. He is very loving once he is comfortable around you and wants to sit on your lap. He loves to go on walks but is reactive on the leash, so he will need additional work in that area.

He is an only dog that lived in a home with younger children and a cat and he gets along great with the cat. He has attended doggy daycare and they say he does better with smaller dogs, and has stayed with another pet sitter before and he did ok with the dogs that were with her. He has very high anxiety at the vet. (Us too, Carl, us too) So the previous owners were working on muzzle training (for the vet). He is housetrained and crate trained.

This handsome boy is available now for adoption so if you are interested in adopting him, please fill out an adoption application. His adoption fee is $275 to offset all vetting costs.

More about this rescue

Max Raven Animal Rescue is a no-kill, non-profit, foster-based animal rescue. Our mission is to save lives and rescue animals in Nebraska and surrounding states with urgent rescue needs. We strive to create a safe and loving environment for discarded and special needs animals.

Our goal is to go from a strictly foster-based rescue to expanding our home base to an acreage, to further our vision of building a sanctuary for animals deemed unadoptable. Giving them a safe and loving home to live out the rest of their days in the care of Max Raven Animal Rescue. We want to provide a happy and loving home for all the animals that come across our path and do our due diligence to save as many animals as possible from euthanasia.

Max Raven Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization.
