My life started out a little rough as I was homeless with my siblings and my parents. We lived at a high school and my parents scavenged for food for all of us. Then one day that all changed and my siblings and I were caught and placed in foster homes and were told that our futures looked bright. My mom had surgery so she couldn’t have any more babies and was taken back to the school where she patrols for mice.
It took me a while to understand that I was safe but my foster mom kept reminding me that everything was okay and that the humans that cared for me, and my siblings, were okay too. I have come a long way since I arrived at my foster home. I play with toys, run around my foster home and play with my brother Hermes and the other kittens at my foster home. And I have to say, I have become very fond of the boiled chicken that my foster family frequently gives me as treats.
I absolutely love attention and cuddling with my foster family. I even get to sleep with one of my foster moms at night. I take sleeping with my human seriously, and check on them regularly to make sure they are safe and warm. I have a pretty loud motor and purr a lot when I’m happy. I will often seek out someone and start purring loudly for attention, which nobody can resist. I make friends pretty quickly with other cats if they are nice like I am and they like to play.
It takes me a little while to get comfortable around new people or new environments, but if you have a little patience with my you will be rewarded with a purring cuddly companion in no time. To make my transition to a new home, and new family, easier for me my foster family would like me to get adopted with my brother Hermes. Hermes and I help provide comfort for one another and knowing that we will always be together makes me very happy.
My foster family says that I am ready to move out of my foster home (with Hermes) to be with my new loving family that will be gentle with me, care for me, and give me as much love as I will give them. I can’t wait to meet my new family!
****HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER RESCUES/SHELTERS****
***WHY MISSION MEOW IS BEST TO ADOPT FROM:***
***Complete Information
You get to speak directly to the foster family who have the kittens in their care!
No one knows the kittens better than the people who have had them for the last several weeks or more. They will give you full details as to personality, background, quirks, likes/dislikes, ETC. Since adopting a pet is a commitment for the next 15-20 years, you want as much information as possible to make the best decision.
***Private, quiet meet & greets
You get to visit the kittens in their own current environment where they run free so their true personality shines through. Our kittens aren’t subjected to noisy stores and stressful cages and you won’t be competing with other annoying people for your desired kittens.
***Quality over Quantity
We are a small rescue so we can focus on each kitten individually to provide personalized medical & socialization protocols. Because we do not overcrowd, our cats do not pass contagious diseases to each other.
***Veterinary Care
We balance a mix of holistic & conventional protocols to keep our kittens healthy. We use high quality disease preventatives & medication when necessary. Mission Meow only wants the best medical care for our kittens, so we don’t skimp on those costs AT ALL. We work closely with our vet to come up with a plan for any kittens who may be ill and to prevent any unnecessary and over medicating. Three local veterinarians have adopted from us after observing the quality of our kittens.
***Food
Our kittens are nourished with high-quality food. We ‘ve been offered free /discounted food from other companies but we choose to use the best option even if it costs more for us.
***Resident Pet/Child Safety
While no one can guarantee the health of any living being, we do our best to make sure your adopted kitten does not have any issues such as parasitic worms that can be passed on to your resident pets or children. We have a very thorough deworming protocol using the best products on the market and the proper duration. Most places adopt kittens while they are in between showing signs of intestinal worms. Not us.
***Post Adoption Support
It is extremely rare that we have any issues post adoption, but if there were any that presented themselves, we would work with you towards a resolution. We pride ourselves on the one-on-one relationships we build with our adopters.

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****
APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs. if we think it's a potentially good match.
INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.
APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.
TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.
WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
