My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Re-Mi came to us in the spring with his siblings.  They have been adopted but this fella waits.  He is still a puppy and has learned great potty skills in his foster home. He is great with other dogs and even good with cats.  He does like children too!  He is a little shy at first and loud noises startle him.  But he loves to snuggle and is just such a good boy.  We think he looks like a lab mix.  But we were told dad was a Husky and mom was said to be Rhodesian Ridgeback but who knows.  He is a nice size fella and would love a home.  Apply today!

Go meet their pets

We have a weekly adoption fair at Petco in Danville, Va. where we bring some of our dogs and cats. Most are fostered in members' homes. If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. Go to http://spcaofpittsco.rescuegroups.org or spcaofpc.petfinder.com.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized. We need you-Please help us save precious lives.
