My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

These sweet pups were living outside when we were asked to come help. Still quite young, they are in foster and ready to learn how to be indoor pets. Father was a Husky and mom was said to be Rhodesian Ridgeback, you can tell which pups took after which parent more than others, but they are all beautiful and may also show personality traits of both breeds.

Go meet their pets

We have a weekly adoption fair at Petco in Danville, Va. where we bring some of our dogs and cats. Most are fostered in members' homes. If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. Go to http://spcaofpittsco.rescuegroups.org or spcaofpc.petfinder.com.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized. We need you-Please help us save precious lives.
