My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is MELODY! My foster family gave me the name Melody because I'm told I'm so, so sweet; like the musical sound of chirping birds on a cool, crisp morning. I'm not sure what that means, I just know that I'm a happy, playful puppy who loves to wag my tail, especially when carrying around my favorite toy and playing with my foster family's 4 doggies. I love to eat; 3 meals a day, and can't wait for my next meal.

My foster family introduced me to doggy daycare and I love it! I know which days all of us are going, and can't wait for the car ride. I don't mind staying in my crate when my family is not at home. I'm potty trained too! When it's time to settle, I enjoy snuggling with my foster family, or with a soft doggie bed to put my head on.

You might notice on my body some areas of thinning hair and bald spots. I'm going through a period of allergic reactions. My allergies include some foods, dust and storage mites, and some outdoor allergens. My foster family has been doing all that they can and working with vets to figure out the sources and keeping me comfortable along the way. The vets even believe I may grow out of some of my allergies especially once I move up north!

I think I would do best with a forever family with another playful dog! If you want to know more about me, I'm sure my foster family would be delighted to tell you more.

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
