My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blaze is a spirited young kitten who has already overcome great odds in his short life. He and his siblings were rescued just in time from a shelter facing overcrowding, where they were at risk of euthanasia. Despite this rough start, Blaze has shown incredible resilience and a playful spirit that shines through every day.
Personality:

Blaze is curious and adventurous, always the first to investigate new toys and play areas. He loves interactive play and enjoys chasing feather toys and batting around balls. He is also a cuddly sweetheart who adores snuggling up in a warm lap or nuzzling against your neck when it's time for a nap.

Ideal Home:

Blaze would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to explore and play to his heart's content. He gets along well with other cats and is also comfortable around gentle, cat-friendly dogs. Due to his young age and energetic nature, Blaze would do best in a home where he receives plenty of attention and playtime.
Blaze is ready to bring joy and companionship to a family looking for a playful and affectionate kitten. If you're interested in meeting Blaze or would like more information, please fill out an adoption application and we will call you as soon as we review it! Adopting Blaze means giving a second chance to a kitten who has already proven his bravery and resilience. He promises to fill your home with warmth, laughter, and endless affection.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is designed with the pet and the family in mind. We look to make the process as easy and efficient as possible for our adopters, while also preserving the key safeguards that ensure we place our kitties with loving homes they can be sure to stay with forever. Sometimes we may ask for a virtual home visit via video or FaceTime to gain more insight into what kind of kitty will best fit your lifestyle and environment.

Go meet their pets

Friends of Normie is an entirely foster based rescue so all of our adoptable cats reside with their foster families who are located across Orange, LA, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties. We have a kitty for every family and locale, so we will work to match you with a feline friend who matches both your desires and your location.

More about this rescue

It all started in 2020 when Friends of Normie founder Ladan Davia found a mother cat and six kittens on the side of the road. All of the shelters and rescues she called in hopes of ensuring this feline family’s safety told her to leave them outside or that they were at capacity. So Ladan went to her local hardware store, bought a trap, and set up a makeshift shelter for the seven cats in her bathroom.

Through the local cat network Ladan got connected to Marla, a rescuer with 25 years of rescue experience. Together, they rescued thousands of cats over the next two years, setting the foundation for what Friends of Normie is today. Without a physical facility, Marla and Ladan utilized a network of committed volunteer fosters to give new rescues temporary, loving homes until they were adopted. Along the way, FON harnessed the power of social media to mobilize the Southern California cat community.

This community began to gain traction as more and more people began following its journey. Today, Friends of Normie has over 40,000 followers who support the rescue and collectively help cats get matched with fosters and adopters quickly.
