My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hank is a wonderful and loving dog with a lot of endearing qualities. His loyalty and love for cuddling, along with his enthusiasm for playing fetch, make him a delightful companion for the right owner. His laid-back nature and preference for lounging by the TV, combined with a healthy appetite for treats and food, show his relaxed yet playful demeanor. It's important to note his territorial behavior around food and toys, highlighting the need for a clear understanding of his boundaries.

His bond with Cash, his foxhound companion, after an initial adjustment period, speaks to his ability to get along with other dogs. While Hank thrives on adult attention, his interactions with young children may not be suitable. Therefore, a family without young kids would be the best fit for him.

Having completed the Jet Set Pets 3-week boarding training program, Hank is well-versed in commands and responsive to training. The trainer's willingness to demonstrate his commands to the future owner, along with your commitment to ensuring the right home for Hank, reflects a dedicated approach to his well-being.

In conclusion, Hank's positive attributes shine through, and with the right match, he can bring joy and companionship to his new family.

Additional information:

  • We are not a shelter.
  • Local adopters only.
  • All our dogs are in private fosters.
  • We only set up meets with approved adopters.
  • If you want to meet our adoptable dogs, many pups will be at Brewhound for Fur Sisters Friday on the first Friday of every month from 6-8 pm.
  • Adopters are chosen based on the best fit for each dog, it is not first come, first served.
  • We do not 'hold' dogs.

Please note: we have many dogs who are not yet listed as available due to the availability of volunteer time to post or because they are puppies. If you are looking for a dog, we recommend filling out an application and indicating what you are looking for in a dog. Our volunteers work hard to match approved applicants with the best dogs for their lifestyle.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Applications are reviewed by volunteers who also do background and reference checks. NOTE: We only accept local applications.

2.

Interview

After applicants pass the application review and checks, we set up a phone screening to go over any questions and to request a home video.

3.

Approve Application

Approved applicants do a "sleepover" with the dog before finalizing adoption. This is up to a week or so.

Additional adoption info

Local adoptions only! (Northeast Florida)

If you are considering adoption but are not 100% sure about the lifetime commitment, please consider fostering!
Fostering allows us to pull dogs from shelters, is at no cost to you, and you get to help save lives. If you decide the furbaby is a good fit for you and your family, you can move forward with the adoption process.
