This helps Viva Los Gatos Cat Rescue with pet care costs.
Betty was rescued from outdoors by a friend of Viva Los Gatos who knew her owner had kicked her out permanently, possibly because she does not get along well with other cats. This was not her first owner, as she had previously been found wandering and no owner could be located. She is microchipped but the chip does not appear to be registered. She was very matted when she came into rescue and needed to be partially shaved; she will likely need regular brushing or grooming her whole life due to her very soft, fine hair.
Betty is young, healthy, affectionate and snuggly, though she doesn't like being picked up. She is brave and curious and loves attention from her foster family and strangers alike. She is generally tolerant of the family dog but slaps him if he tries to smell her. She is probably a little too aggressively affectionate for small children - she likes to love nip when she's being petted, and sometimes she nips pretty hard. She is a beautiful, dignified princess who demands respect - whether it's extensive lap time, a little of your sandwich, a chair she has claimed as no longer yours, or the right to NOT be picked up - and she will complain loudly if she does not receive this respect.
Betty is 2-4 years old, spayed, up-to-date on shots, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She is looking for a home without other cats, older children or no children, and no dog or a cat-tolerant dog who will respect her boundaries. She is very curious about outdoors and has slipped outside once so far - this roaming habit is probably how she ended up lost in the first place.
