Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Woody von Wesel is a beautiful, 10-month-old German Shepherd mix. With his striking coloring and darling personality, Woody should be on your radar. He’s a lover through and through, always showering his humans with kisses and finding you in a crowd to hang out by your side. His ideal day includes meeting new dogs in playgrous and running around with them for as long as you’ll let him, getting outside on a long walk to stretch his legs and explore the world, and curling up with you for some ear rubs. Woody has moderate energy levels and enjoys a balance between being active and chilling out. No matter what, though, he brings a good attitude and is eager to impress, whether that’s listening to your guidance on the leash or studying up on some new commands. You can’t go wrong with Woody, so come give him a chance today.
Rescued from the Palmdale animal shelter.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
