Boon started life as a street dog in Egypt. He is a Baladi mix typically comprised of sighthounds - Salukis, Pharaoh Houds, and Israeli Canaan dogs - which is the most common type of Egyptian street dog. Boon was adopted as a one-year-old in 2018 but unfortunately was surrendered in 2024. Home life for this 7-year-old was too busy and noisy, causing him to react negatively to visitors. He was also skittish around cars and loud noises. Away from all the activity, Boon is learning to relax and adjust to a new life. He needs time to warm up to new people. But if you give him a bit of time, he will start rubbing himself on you and then you are in! You will have made a friend for life. Boon is house-trained, crate trained and walks well on leash. His ideal new home is a quiet one in a suburban or rural setting. More about this rescue

Paws Above is a small foster based rescue that operates in the Greater Toronto Area. It was founded by Ola Zalewski. Ola has been caring for and training dogs her whole adult life, 20 years! She runs a successful dog daycare business out of King City. She is most passionate however when it comes to homeless dogs. She has been rescuing and rehoming dogs for as long as she has been training them. She specializes in taking in dogs with challenges, we work on their issues and match them up with the perfect family. She saves dogs in Canada and also rescues from abroad. If there is a dog in need and we are able, Paws Above will help out!
