Young Derby is a friendly, happy-go-lucky guy who could be a great addition to your family.

We think Derby is part Belgian Malinois. He starts walks very bouncy with nervous energy but listens to his handler and catches on very quickly to new commands. This long-legged boy is tall but lanky and not very heavy or muscular, so he's fairly easy to handle on the leash. He'd be a great trail or running partner.

Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) is a 501(c)(3) organization that shelters and cares for the lost and abandoned companion animals of Alameda, California. It reunites lost pets with their owners, finds new homes for the homeless, and attempts to prevent animal cruelty through education and community programs. In addition, FAAS offers programs designed to prevent pets from entering the shelter, including a Pet Food Pantry, low-cost spay/neuter services through Vets In Vans, the Skyla Fund to help pay veterinary bills, the Sasha Fund for canine training, and on-staff social services counseling.
