My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hugh is a handsome older gentleman who came to APA from the Austin Animal Center. He enjoys playing fetch, playing with toys, going on walks, and receiving affection! Hugh is very loving and playful. He's also treat-motivated, which makes training easier! Hugh would prefer a low traffic, calm home to ride out his golden years. He would do well as the only animal in the home, but he can be paired with a well-matched dog friend, too. Hugh is recommended to interact with older, respectful teenagers due to his jumpy and mouthy behavior. A little positive reinforcement training will make these behaviors a thing of the past, as they are behaviors that weren't trained out of Hugh when he was a puppy. Continued obedience training is recommended for Hugh to become the best dog he can be! He will learn quickly with anyone who takes the time to train him. Hugh is house-trained, so that part is done!
