My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Penny and I'm sooooo excited to meet you! Just a few weeks ago, I thought people were pretty scary, but now that I've learned about belly rubs I am all in on people! I love dogs, too. Wrestling with my foster siblings is my favorite pass time, but if they are busy I'm just as happy tossing pine cones around the yard by myself. I'm still a puppy so sometimes I get confused about which things are ok to chew (why are socks so yummy??) and where exactly to go to the bathroom (outside, outside, crate?) but I'm learning quick and I know all my basic commands. If you're ready for a curious, spunky companion who will keep you laughing, I'm your girl!

Additional adoption info

We start with a phone interview to gather information to determine if initially it would be a good fit. We then have an application to be completed and in some circumstances a home visit.

Our pets are available to meet by appointment only by calling or texting our adoption coordinator Karyn at 435-640-4752, or via email at karyn@plfu.org.

More about this rescue

Paws for Life Utah is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that is dedicated to helping homeless dogs, cats and other "at risk" animals from municipal shelters find new, forever homes. We are a no-kill advocate, partnering with the Heber valley animal shelter, making them no-kill in 2013. Since then, we have expanded our reach throughout the state of Utah to rescue animals at risk. Our vision for the future is a "no kill" nation.
