My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper is a 1 year old black female with natural ears who came to rescue because her family didn’t have time for her. They recently had a baby and felt that because of their constraints on time it would be more responsible to turn her into rescue and have her go to a forever home that had the time to dedicate to her. She has lived with a 4 year old little girl and an 8 week old baby, and was very gentle and kind with both of them. She gets along with all dogs she meets and does fine with cats. Piper loves everyone she meets and was quite a hit at the vet hospital while there being spayed. We feel Piper would do best in a home with another canine companion.

Update 5/9/10 - Piper is a big bundle of joy and energy! She loves to play - whether with her house mate older male Dane, chasing the squirrels, or squeaking her stuffies. She also wants to play with the cats, they aren't quite as enthused with that idea. Crate trained and housebroken, Piper is very bright and curious - a very quick learner. She wants to be involved in absolutely everything. We are working on table and countertop manners. Piper knows right from wrong, it's just sometimes that people food smell is just soooo tempting! Piper thrives on attention. She loves to be petted and cuddled and lots of tummy rubs. Although not a barker and not destructive, Piper would do best with another canine in the house to play with to help absorb some of her energy level.

Update 8/7/10 - After living in an adoptive home for a week, unfortunately Piper is back. The other dog in the home that she went to decided that he didn't like her. She's a wonderful girl that is just looking for a permanent home of her own.
