Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Jackal is a sweet and loving 5 year old female husky. Her foster says that she loves people she knows, but has a shy side at first. When she was brought to her new home she was calm but very cautious and it took some time to warm up. Since her arrival, Jackal has become very loving, sweet, and snuggly. She had some transitional potty-training issues initially, but these completely disappeared over time. She may have a few accidents transitioning into a forever home, so a potential adopter should just be aware to be patient with her as she adjusts.
Jackal loves to go for walks and is very food motivated. She has come around to loving snuggles from time to time too! She has a few behavioral concerns her foster has been working on, and we expect her to continue to improve over time. She will get a little defensive with other dogs if she feels trapped or scared, though this is entirely a defensive fear response and not aggression. She has done very well with dogs that give her space as well as older children. Her foster has noted a few instances of counter surfing and getting into the trash (she LOVES food!), and chewing items that are not toys, but she responds well to verbal correction. Crates are not her favorite and like many huskies she can climb. These behaviors can be trained in the right environment and with time. You can tell that she spent most of her life scared and without security/consistency. Jackal is a special girl that truly deserves an understanding permanent home.
The ideal home for Jackal would be a quiet and calmer environment where she can truly feel “at home”. She needs an understanding adopter who will give her time to acclimate, adjust, and become part of the family. The adopter needs to understand that her behaviors will become better over time as she starts to feel as though she can relax without the fear of being abandoned. Yards with chain link fences would not be ideal for her as she would be able to climb over them. Jackal is absolutely a sweet girl who deserves to have a loving home. If you feel that you can help her feel as though she truly is home, please fill out our adoption application!

Additional adoption info
We ensure that our huskies only go to families on a property with a 6ft secure fence, and remain the guardian of the animal for life - if there is ever need for a family to rehome their husky again due to health or any other major concern, we are always willing to take the dog back and find them a new home.

We do not have a physical shelter location just yet, and operate solely out of foster homes. We are planning to begin participating in adoption events in the near future - these will be listed on our website once available!
