My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We pulled Blue from the e-list at MCACC back in June 2024. Blue was overwhelmed when being captured as a stray and did not do well in the shelter like many huskies and was e-listed as a result. Fortunately, we’ve had a lot of time to get to know this happy, goofy guy and he is such a friendly boy now that he’s decompressed and had time to adjust!

Blue has been in multiple different foster homes with us, through no fault of his own - he’s just been with us for a long time and it’s sometimes hard for fosters to commit to keeping an extra dog for that long. His fosters have all loved having him but he is now sadly in boarding and we would love to at least get a new foster for him, if we can’t find an adopter!

He has warmed up quickly very quickly in every foster home he’s been in, too! He can be very affectionate and loves to cuddle with humans. He’s a bit on the higher energy side and may jump up when he first sees you too. He’s also been great with other dogs, and is very playful with other high-energy dogs, though he’ll also chill with others that just want to hang out. He can be a talkative boy at times in true husky form.

Blue loves to play fetch with tennis balls, and in one of his foster homes did show a tendency to hoard and guard toys from other dogs, though in his next foster home we saw that this had improved greatly. We would recommend taking some care with toys initially as he adjusts to a new home with new dogs, but don’t expect serious issues since he has shown so much improvement over time! We haven’t had him around small dogs or cats.

Blue has had resource guarding issues with food from humans in the past, but this has pretty much dissipated thanks to the work of one of his fosters! We want to make sure any adopter is aware of this in his past in case it pops back up and some reinforcement training is needed. We are recommending a home with no young kids – teens and older should be ok! He just needs a family that understands high energy needs and understands typically dog behavior and signals. He is a really happy, friendly and loving boy otherwise!

He’s been looking for a home for so long - please share to help us find this boy his family!
