Doc & Marten are an infectious brother duo that will light up your home. Their foster mom describes them as So lovable, Inquisitive and playful. We think these dudes may be a year & a half old. Both boys are under 15 pounds.
These boys will play fetch & even retrieve well. With more practice & continued reinforcement of commands, these boys are eager to learn. Marten knows the sit command but Doc is still working to perfect that skill. However, Doc is better with ball fetch so they just even out in skills department!
Doc & Marten are good with small dogs. We have not seen them in environments with bigger dogs, but with proper introductions & patience, we suspect they would adapt. As for children - that is another environment we have not tested. We are quite optimistic kids over the age of 5 would work fine. Their foster mom regards them as adaptable so we suspect when handled appropriately, most scenarios can work.
As for everyone's first question - potty .. it's a work in progress. Marten will alert when it's time but Doc has proven to be slower to notify you. There will for sure be mishaps. A good schedule & routine will continue to improve the bathroom department.
They share everything, from their food to their water to their toys and their bed space. It's a forever playmate. Their foster mom has not kenneled them but says they do well contained in a space with a gate. They may need reinforcement in leash walking. They arrived to us under the weather so between recovery & this sweltering Carolina heat, walks have not been the priority. Likely, the two together need practice to be good citizens on a leash but it's doable.
We'd love them to have a fenced yard. We are open to discussing the right home without one, but please know these guys are young, energetic & need time to play. And don't forget - there are two of them! Without a yard, their new family will have to commit to serious daily activity.
Doc & Marten are fully vetted, neutered & vaccinated. They are fostered in Greensboro so prospective adopters will need to travel there. Their adoption fee is $350.
