My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Colton, a lovable 4-year-old male mix breed weighing 80 lbs. Colton is a playful and sweet goofball who is sure to bring joy to any home. He gets along well with other dogs and is great on a leash, making him an ideal companion for daily walks and adventures. While he does not enjoy the company of cats, Colton's friendly and affectionate nature shines through, making him a delightful addition to any family. Colton wad previously fostered in a home with a young dog and children between 3 years old and 9. If you're looking for a fun-loving and charming pup to share your life with, Colton is ready to meet you. Apply to adopt him at ITVrescue.org.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
