My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakley is a spirited 3-year-old Husky with a love for outdoor adventures and a strong bond with his sibling, River. This handsome boy is energetic and alert, always ready for a walk or hike where he can explore the world around him. Oakley walks well on a leash and can be a bit bouncy, especially when he’s excited about the scents and sights of his surroundings. He’s particularly fond of sniffing and is always alert to his environment, making him an excellent companion for someone who enjoys long walks and outdoor activities.

While Oakley can be a little apprehensive in new situations, he finds comfort in familiar faces and spaces. He’s known to look back toward the shelter or seek out his brother, River, when feeling unsure. Despite his initial wariness, he’s friendly with people and other dogs, though he may need a bit of time to warm up. At mobile events, Oakley has shown his affectionate side, briefly placing his head in laps for attention and enjoying gentle pets. He’s great with kids and tolerant of handling, even enjoying a good brushing session.

Oakley is intelligent and knows basic commands like sit and down, especially when treats are involved. Though he isn’t overly interested in toys, he engages well with enrichment activities, particularly when treats are hidden for him to find. He’s not a fan of being left alone or separated from River, often becoming vocal or pulling toward his brother, indicating the strong bond between them.

Oakley would thrive in a home where he can be active and have plenty of opportunities to explore. He’d do best with a family who understands his need for companionship, possibly even considering adopting his brother, River, as well. Oakley’s gentle nature and love for the outdoors make him a perfect match for someone who appreciates both the wild and tender sides of a Husky. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy with a heart of gold, Oakley is ready to find his forever home with you!
