Meet Louise, an adult dog with a heart full of love. Her sweet, gentle nature is a soothing balm to all who meet her. Louise's playful spirit is infectious, filling the room with joy. She loves a good game of fetch and is always up for a leisurely walk. Despite being in a shelter, Louise's spirit remains unbroken. She greets each day with a wagging short tail and a hopeful gaze. She's a testament to resilience, a beacon of hope. Adopting Louise isn't just about giving a home to a shelter pet. It's about welcoming a bundle of love into your life, a loyal companion who'll be there for you through thick and thin. Louise is waiting for a home where she can shower her human with love and companionship. Could that be with you?

The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
