My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This cutie is Mushu! The goodest boy, so so sweet and snuggly, handsome, loving and hilarious. Kid friendly and great with other dogs! Mushu is a smart boy, he knows how to catch treats in his mouth, knows a handful of basic commands, he’ll make a wonderful adventure-buddy and family-dog.

Mushu, “Moosh” for short, is a rescue dog we believe his breed is a lab pittie mix, but we can’t be 100% positive without a DNA test. He weighs in around 55lbs, and we believe him to be around 3 years old.

Fall in love with Mushu here: https://youtu.be/K9VQx8W2oSg?si=go8yPKFaANNndpAi

Mushu is a playful guy, he loves toys and treats and plays well with others. With other dogs, Mushu reads body language fantastically and takes correction well. With kids, Mushu is a perfect gentleman, gentle, loving and sweet. He’s incredibly tolerant, we’ve seen kids poke him in the eye and throw toys at him while he wasn’t looking- Mushu had no reaction, just a sweet understanding that kids will be kids. He loves to give hugs and kisses! Mushu knows how to reel in his energy when needed, and watching him with kids is proof of that! He’s also incredibly tolerant, he has such an understanding of children and he’s just SO good with them.

Mushu has the stamina to accompany you on any adventure you can dream up. His leash skills are great, and he’s people-focused enough to check in with you while out and about. He’s curious and exploratory and not afraid to get his paws wet! He would make an excellent hiking/camping/adventure dog.

Camping? In the woods? With a dog?
Yes! Moosh has shown NO prey drive with his foster mom. She has ducks behind a fence that he doesn’t bother and just ignores. He hasn’t shown any prey drive with other birds or squirrels either! He’s really a great dog, and he’ll make a perfect companion.

Mushu has great house manners, basic commands, leash skills, cuddling skills, hugging skills, gentle-treat-taking skills, and kennel skills. He knows how to catch treats in his mouth, and how to catch toys mid-air! Moosh is just about the perfect dog! Anyone would be so lucky to adopt this boy. He’s also absolutely hilarious- this boy will keep you laughing with his silly faces, playful antics and sweet kisses. In the car, Mushu is easy! He hops right in, and settles in the backseat. He loooveeees pup cups too!

Mushu’s perfect home has at least one loving human to kiss and snuggle. He asks that you please refrain from forcing him to live with felines, but he’s not too picky about the rest! This sweet boy would be an amazing family dog, he’ll love your kids the way that you love them, and he’ll always look out for them. Moosh will need daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy- yard time, walks or vigorous playtime.

We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
