My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucky: Your Future Furry Friend!

Lucky is a delightful and well-mannered dog who has clearly been loved in the past. His excellent indoor manners make him an easy addition to any household. Here's a bit more about him:

- **House-Trained & Crate Trained**: Lucky is completely house-trained and comfortable in his crate, making him a breeze to care for.

- **Lounging & Napping**: He enjoys lounging around and napping, and loves car rides, where he patiently sits in the back seat.

- **Quiet & Polite**: While Lucky is generally quiet indoors, he will bark to alert you if someone knocks. He enjoys being on the couch with his person but never jumps on laps or people. Plus, he doesn’t counter-surf or chew on things he shouldn't.

- **Gentle Companion**: Lucky is very gentle with cats and kids, and he gets along well with non-aggressive dogs.

- **Moderate Exercise**: He enjoys moderate exercise and a 30-minute walk is perfect for him, although he is always up for longer walks.

- **Leash Training**: Lucky is getting better at leash training. He can be a bit of a handful when he sees other dogs but is not aggressive.

- **Thunderstorm Comfort**: He is scared of thunderstorms and prefers to hide in his crate or stay very close to his person during storms.

- **Loving Nature**: Lucky was found as a stray, adopted, but unfortunately returned after 10 months due to his owners moving. His current foster mom thinks he is a wonderful boy who deserves a family that will love him forever.

Lucky is a sweet, gentle, and loyal companion ready to bring joy and love to his new home. If you're looking for a well-behaved and loving dog, Lucky is the perfect match for you!

Additional adoption info

We have a pretty straight forward adoption process.
People will see the animal online or at an event...then fill out the application...we then have the foster do an interview and meet and greet one on one. Then a vet reference check :(if no previous animals, then a personal reference), Then a home check....once all is approved, the adopter can take the animal home. We only adopt to people over the age of 21.

We do meet and greets by appointments with our fosters and we also do adoption events with Hollywood Feeds in the Raleigh/Cary areas

More about this rescue

Spots and Stripes Forever Rescue is located in Northwest Lee County NC. Our 30 acre farm is dedicated to our rescued dogs, cats, and equines. Our equines have 10 grassy acres, the dogs have 15 enclosed acres to run and play in and our cats have the entire upstairs as their own Catico. We also have several animals in foster homes.

We operate solely on donations and are always in need canned dog/cat food, litter, horse feed, hay, and vet bill donations.

Our Mission:
At Spots and Stripes Forever Rescue, our mission is to save the lives of stay, abandoned, abused, or. surrendered dogs, cats, and equines in our local community. We provide them the care and shelter that they need and deserve, regardless of whether it's for the short term or long term. Those that are adoptable will be placed into loving and responsible homes.

While our primary. focus is on Dalmatians, Hounds, and cats..we extend our help to other animals whenever possible Our future goals include a Cat House/area that allows us to help. more with feral cats who are not allowed to return to their previous areas/colonies due to local county mandates. We would also like to build more dog and equine facilities in the future.

Our dogs and cats are rescued from local shelters and our equines are rescued from "kill pens". Kill Pens set up for equines who are headed to slaughter. We have a local one in Asheboro NC.

Our board members are also our foster moms and dads for
many dogs and cats.
