My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Lady is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling and is really struggling in the shelter environment. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, home with adopters who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help her adjust to their new home. Based on her history we're hoping she will improve soon.

My foster writes: Meet Lady, an adorable black calico with one sock on and a high-pitched meow that will melt your heart! Lady is a playful and affectionate kitty who loves to headbutt and nuzzle her kitty friends. She'll keep you entertained with her kitten-like antics, sneaking and swiping at anything on a string and dashing around with joy.
When she's in relaxation mode, Lady will splay out wherever she's laying, stretching her cute little toe beans and slow blinking to show just how comfortable she is. While Lady is initially shy and may need some time to warm up, once she feels safe, she'll approach you for gentle pets and companionship.
Lady thrives in a calm household with other cats, as they give her the confidence to be herself. She loves being around other cats and will follow them around, always ready for a cuddle and a nap together. Lady prefers a home where someone is usually around, making her feel secure and loved.
If you have a peaceful home and are ready to give Lady the time she needs to feel comfortable, she'll reward you with endless love and playful moments (on her own terms since she is a lady after all!). Adopt Lady today and she'll be the sweetest, cutest, energetic companion you didn't know you were missing!

Recently, she has been very playful and active, and no longer hides when we walk into the same room as us. Instead, she is vocal and purring, eager for a treat and tolerant of petting and being picked up. She continues to stay close by our cat Mayu's side, and we'd love to see her adopted by a family with another cat in the household.
